Don Bosco College Bangalore was founded in 2022 with the aim of training young people to become competent and socially responsible people through holistic and innovative training in the spirit of Don Bosco. Five degree programs have been offered since August 2022, 101 students are currently enrolled.

Within the frame of the project the IT networking of the entire college was built for workflow automation, course delivery, security monitoring, human resources management, financial management. Security systems (CCTV camera and IT based surveillance systems), as well as automated loudspeaker systems were installed. In addition computer labs for various courses were established and emergency power systems to operate IT systems in the event of power outages were set up.

The aim of the project is to improve higher education for marginalised young people at Don Bosco College in Bangalore by setting up a modern IT infrastructure. This will provide better training and learning opportunities for the young people and the college staff. The provision of quality IT education (as per global higher education standards) will ensure that the skills acquired by the students meet the requirements of the labour market.

Begeca supported the project with its technical expertise as well as with funds from the Katholischen Zentralstelle für Entwicklung e. V. (KZE).
