Who we are

This is BEGECA

Throughout the world, the Catholic Church fulfils its charitable mission by implementing thousands of projects in various fields of work: education, social promotion, health, human rights, etc.

BEGECA was founded in 1968 when MISEREOR decided to transform its purchasing department into an independent non-profit organisation specialising in logistics, procurement and technical support for the development and humanitarian projects of churches and non-profit organisations around the world. Initially, it focused on the procurement of vehicles and heavy machinery, but later developed many other related areas such as technical consultancy.

BEGECA is committed to the social, pastoral and charitable objectives of its shareholders. In accordance with its funding principles, remains a non-profit organisation with the sole purpose of supporting the social objectives of Church actors and their contribution to a fairer, better and more humane world. BEGECA can only work for non-commercial institutions and partners.

To cover costs, BEGECA charges a percentual commission on the goods and freight invoices for our services. Since the institution does not have on its own funds, it is not able to support projects financially or through supplies of goods. We ask for your understanding!

Since 1968, BEGECA has procured and shipped goods worth approximately €650 million. The current annual turnover averages around €14 million.

There are currently 18 employees at the BEGECA office in Aachen.
